During the 1970s, 1980s and into the 90's  the C. E. Ryder Corp. of Bristol, Rhode Island, built four Southern Cross models, The Southern Cross 28, 31, 35 and 39. All of these  all of them designed by Thomas Gillmer.

The Southern Cross Owners Association was formed in 1981 and is still going strong. A testemant to the love and interest of these hardy designs and well built vessels that can sail safely from harbor to harbor or around the world.
